An extensive review of the taxa of Carabus and Procerus from Near East is given, added by several maps showing their distribution, and illustrated by a great number of figures of these taxa, their genital apparatus included. Two new subspecies are described and pictured: Carabus (Chaetomelas) piochardi pierpaolo n. ssp. and Carabus (Procrustes) impressus neojordanicus n. ssp.
