The work provides corrections to original citations, spellings, authorships, publication dates, and type species designations of several genus-group names of Geadephaga listed in the world catalogue of generic names published by Lorenz (1998). A list of unjustified emendations is presented in Appendix 1, and a list of incorrect subsequent spellings, reported and unjustified emendations by Lorenz (1998), is presented in Appendix 2. New replacement names are proposed, new synonymies are introduced, type species are designated for 24 genus-group names, and 12 names are revalidated.
