The present work report a total of 339 species of Notodontidae from China (including Taiwan). The only existing comprehensive studies about the Notodontidae of China (Cai 1979, 1882a) report only 185 species (about 55 %). However, even this larger number of species may list only about 70 % of the Chinese species of Notodontidae because of the large unexplored areas in China. 38 taxa (31 of them in the rank of species) were recognized as new to science and were described in advance (Schintlmeister 1989). 132 taxa (44 of them are on generic level) were recognized as new synonyms. 54 taxa were new combined and 19 taxa have changed their status. 3 lectotypes have been designated.
