The Pliocenic malacofaune of the Guadalquivir Valley, Spain, contains 316 species of molluscs, most of which (212, 76%) ectinct. The largest group is represented by gastropods (188 species), bivalves are also represented in a fair number (125 species). No Polyplacophora have been found while the Scaphopoda are represnted by only 3 species.
