The morphology and biology of Turritella janae n. sp. from the Maldives is described. This new, endemic species differs from its congeners by an unmistakable deep sutural groove formed by an overlapping spiral cord. Numerous aspects of its animal, radula, and biology set it apart from others in the family. New taxon: Turritella janae n. sp.
