Margovula montorum n. sp. from Northern Bohol, Philippines, differs from its congeners by a more solid, more inflated and humped shell lacking mid-dorsal striae, and by having three conspicuous regular transverse bands. It has been confused with the dissimilar Margovula tinctilis Cate 1973, which is synonymized with Margovula pyriformis (G. B. Sowerby I 1828) herein. The conchologically extreme lacrima Cate 1973 is moved from Margovula back to its original generic assignment in the genus Lacrima.
