Located in Western Kenya about 40 km northeast of Kisumu along the northeastern rim of Lake Victoria basin it is inhabitat by a large number of animal and plant species, which are absent or only very rarely found in other areas of Eastern Africa. Some endemics occur only in Kakamega Forest. This guide contains a selection of interesting, colourful and eye-catching insects, spiders, and other arthropod species. With more than 900 photographs of living specimens in their natural habitats, it should be pssible to identify many of the observed insects. May this booklet pique the reader's curiosity for Kakamega Forest's miracle of nature.
